How Sessions Work At Buckeye
At Buckeye you will attend sessions in the morning and the afternoon. You can pick one workshop for the morning session time slot - and then you attend it for all four days in the morning. You do the same thing in the afternoon session time slot - pick one workshop and attend it for all four days.
Buckeye also offers Mini-Sessions in the morning - you will be able to attend one mini-session for two days then a second mini-session for the last two days.
We try to help you by letting you know what type of learning you will get when you attend a workshop. The following list will help you understand what type of learning and who will benefit from attending the specific workshop:
- E - Experiential Education: Participants will engage in “hands-on” learning to create their own project or to experience mental and physical challenges in a supportive group environment.
- L - Leadership: Session will focus on skill development that is transferable to other groups or social interactions.
- G - Group Dynamics: The session will be based on building “team spirit” and an understanding of group dynamics. Participants will learn to facilitate positive and structured social interaction. Problem solving skills will also be taught.
- M - Music: Class will be oriented around music and traditional or non-traditional instruments and/or song.
- T - Teaching: Class will offer direct teaching preparation to transfer specific information with the goal of participants being proficient in leading the class activities in his/her “home” environment.
- Y - Youth: Session will involve activities or concepts which are easily transferable or utilized with youth audiences.
